Over 10 years ago a group of parents decided that they needed something for their kids to do.
The kids in question all had a diagnosis of autism (some with other things attached too like OCD or ADHD).
The reason we thought our kids needed something to do was simple. Our kids would clearly find gaining employment difficult and they were not going to be allowed to simply do nothing.
Since that first meeting and brainstorming session over 11 years ago in 2011 we have developed into what we are today.
So what are we today?
We are still a group, some would say a rag tag bunch, of parents who do what we can to offer our kids opportunities to work a few hours here and there to give them a focus away from their other interests.
Everything we do is about giving young autistic adults as much responsibility as they they want and can safely be allowed. It would be brilliant if this venture was wholly staffed and run by people with autism or other disabilities but we're not there yet.
However every order we receive will have been designed, printed, packed or posted by someone with autism. That we can guarantee.
We are NOT a charity, and although we are hoping to complete the process to become a CIC we are not one of those at the moment either.
That said we do give almost all of the money raised through our sales to good causes and that is something we all agree to do.
Since 2011 we have raised and donated over £29,000. That is something we are incredibly proud of.
